Construction Observer
Yaggy Colby Associates (YCA), has an opening for a Construction Observer at the Rochester, MN location. Dependent
on the qualifications of the candidiate, the location may be able to be based out of our metro office located in
Burnsville, MN.
YCA is a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm that is team-oriented, has a reputation for producing quality

Qualified candidates must have a two-year civil technology degree or a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or
construction management from an accredited college or university. Candidates must have a minimum of 3-4 years of
experience in the construction inspection field. The position consists of construction observation, testing and
providing detailed documentation of construction projects dealing with streets, sewers, storm sewers, water mains,
highways and bridges. Trunk Highway, Federal Aid and State Aid project documentation experience and possession
of DOT inspection certifications is desired. Individuals must be capable of performing in a variety of outdoor
conditions and able to negotiate rugged terrain. They must also have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance,
and a personal vehicle. Business expenses, including mileage are reimbursed. This position is 40 hours per week
plus overtime during the peak construction season and is seasonal in nature with the possibility of temporary
layoff during the winter depending on workload.
